This time, I want to know what game you’ve put more hours into than any other. Is it because you really liked it? Or were you just inexplicably hooked?

World of Warcraft.  I’ve been playing it for going on 7 years straight now.  I have 217 days and 22 hours play time on just my main character (that’s 5,000+ hours.)  It’s not the game, it’s the people you play it with.  And I luff my guildies.

Most played portable game would be Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, clocking in at roughly 687 hours.  There’s just so much content in that game.

Dark Souls is running up to about 1500 hours, Guild Wars 2 about 400. Fire Emblem:Awakening is looking like a tough contender right now…

Just a single game? Chrono Trigger. I played and replayed that countless times as a kid. It was my sick day game. I’d play through from start to finish.

It was always my favorite game for some reason, perhaps because of the variety of landscapes to explore, the time travel aspect, the varied characters, and the fact that one of them is a villain redeemed. It also had a pretty different battle system for the time, and I really enjoyed the way the techniques could be combined with other characters to make new attacks.

I don’t play MMOs or go for perfectionist in stuff like Elder Scrolls so I don’t rack up nearly as much time in those kinds of games as other people do.

As a series though, pokemon collectively has used up a lot of my time as well.

Yup, WoW owned my soul for many years.  It is the perfect combo of community and addictive goal chasing gameplay.  Other than that probably Final Fantasy VI; from SNES to Playstation to Gameboy i’ve played ‘em all.  Great story, great gameplay and amazing replay value.

I’m not entirely sure what game I’ve clocked te most hours on…because my records have been lost a few times. I know I played the hell out of pokemon gold. But i never looked at my play time as a 10 year ild. That didn’t matter to me. And at one point the internal battery died, I replaced it, and I played many more times through the game. So based on my other pokemon games play clocks, I’m guessing I have somewhere around 700-1000 logged on that cartridge. And that’s low balling it.

If were not just talking about handhelds, Ive easily put 2000+ hours into Brawl, and way more than that into Meele. But again, I lost my Brawl play clock when I switched Wiis (which is my biggest rage against Nintendo). I could look up my Meele time but I’m not home right now.

Hm, guess I took for granted that people would assume I meant handheld games. But that’s cool. I’ll read a bunch of the above comments on the show. But I would prefer everyone to focus on the portable game they’ve played the most…unless you’re one of those people who got WoW to run on their Android.

Well, I’m clocking an unhealthy number of hours on Jetpack Joyride (thanks soo much, KC, for getting me into it). I’ve stopped doing anything productive, all I do is play that game. (I’ve stopped doing anything unproductive, too. It’s just that game.)

The only game I have ever played for hours on end was not a handheld one—and that was Civilization II. Unfortunately, I really disliked the DS version, Civilization Revolution, which actually has good reviews on most sites. Blah!

I am awesome at Jetpack Joyride but I think going through the entire game twice was enough for me.

I’m not a big gamer (the horror) but once I start playing something, I play a lot in short bursts. Tetris is one game, for sure, that is on that list. I don’t have the attention span to stick to games for a long time though.

@Amelie I’m kind of similar: I play a game consistently for a while and then wind up abandoning it. For some reason I haven’t done that with Jetpack Joyride yet (I’ve cashed in my levels 4 or 5 times already and I think I have a while yet before I’ll stop playing), but I haven’t touched Summon night 2 (another of @KC‘s recommendations) in a couple of weeks.

Well, it’s not a handheld games, but I’ve been logging a lot of hours playing Tekken 3.

it looks like a lot of people have responded with non-handheld games. I wonder if that means anything?

I have to be on board with @Amelie on this one. Tetris has just been around so long and there are so many versions of it that I’ve played. That has to be the game I’ve spent the most time with by far.

Hey @Amelie! What’s wrong with Civ Revolution?

Castlevania Symphony of The Night. I played that game to 100% at least 4 times.
