February 6, 2013

3DS, Android, DS, iOS, iPad, iPhone, Other, Podcasts, PS Vita

TPPlogoFire Emblem: Awakening just hit store shelves and the 3DS eShop, so tonight we take a look at the series that invented the strategy RPG, from the original Famicom/GBA release to the newest title. Plus we talk about what we’re playing, news, and much more.

Also, the PS Vita Birthday Sale we talk about is apparently not available in the US. Sorry for not mentioning that fact.

I think it would have been cool if you’d talked about other games that are similar to Fire Emblem, or perhaps a bit more about the genre as a whole. I’ve never played a Fire Emblem game before, but I have played Final Fantasy Tactics and that Pokemon Conquest thing, and the “perma death” issue reminded me of that. Obviously, Fire Emblem came first :P I also seem to remember some sort of controversy with them deciding to make a casual gamer option that gets rid of the perma death. A lot of people were saying you aren’t a real player if you play that way. It reminded me of minecraft players who think you’re a wimp if you played on peaceful before creative mode became a big thing. Some gamers really are so full of themselves.

I still don’t have a Vita. I’m unemployed now so it’s even harder to justify purchasing now. The only reason I’d even get it is because of the Katamari game. But I suppose that’s how some feel about the Wii U. I have a Wii U and enjoy it a lot. I think it has a lot of potential. Plus I am set and ready for when the new Zelda games come out now. :)

Haha I loved JVs reaction to my email. I dont think they SHOULD get rid of the online capabilities, that would be a terrible idea. Im just saying that I dont use them so I woudnt even notice if they did.

I noticed you guys were hating pretty hard on the WiiU. Why is that? I dont have a WiiU and Ive never even seen one in person, so I have no idea.
